These Terms & Conditions govern your purchase of software from Ridge Sound through this website. Please read them alongside our Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and the End User License Agreement that covers your use of the software itself.

1. Who you are buying from

Ridge Sound is a sole proprietorship. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “Ridge Sound” mean Ridge Sound, a sole proprietorship of Gil Abrams.

2. What we sell

We sell audio plugins. These are small pieces of software that run inside music production applications such as Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, Reaper and Studio One. These applications are commonly called DAWs (digital audio workstations). A plugin is not a standalone program you buy and run on its own; it loads inside your DAW and processes sound as it passes through.

Fold EQ is supplied as a VST3 on Windows and macOS, and additionally as an Audio Unit on macOS from version 1.1 onward, so it runs in Logic Pro and GarageBand as well. Pro Tools loads only AAX and is not supported. Please check that your DAW loads VST3 or Audio Units before buying, and use the free demo to confirm.

Everything we sell is downloadable software. There is no physical product, and nothing is shipped to you.

3. Orders and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

This means that when you buy from us, your contract for the purchase transaction is with Paddle.com Market Limited, not with Ridge Sound directly. Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, and the calculation, collection and remittance of any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Ridge Sound never sees or stores your card details.

Prices are shown in US dollars. Fold EQ is $19.99 USD as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Depending on where you live, tax may be added at checkout; Paddle will show you the exact total before you pay.

4. Delivery

Delivery is immediate and entirely electronic. After your payment completes you are taken to our license portal, where you enter your order reference and email address to download two things:

Your order receipt from Paddle also contains a link back to that portal, so you can return and download again at any time. If anything goes wrong, email support@ridgesound.com and we will sort it out.

5. Your license

Buying a plugin gives you a license to use it. You do not acquire ownership of the software. The full terms are set out in the End User License Agreement, which you should read before purchasing. In summary: you may install the plugin on any number of computers you personally own or control, you may use it for commercial work including released music, and any audio you make with it is entirely yours. You may not share, resell or publish your license file.

6. Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund, no questions asked. If the plugin is not for you, tell us within 14 days of purchase and you get your money back in full. You do not need to give a reason. See the Refund Policy.

7. Updates and support

Minor updates within a major version (for example v1.1, v1.2) are free to licensed users. We are not obliged to release future versions, but we intend to keep our plugins working on current operating systems and DAWs. Support is provided by email at support@ridgesound.com.

8. Trying before you buy

Our installers run in demo mode until a license file is loaded. Demo mode is the complete plugin with one limitation: the audio output mutes briefly at regular intervals. Nothing else is restricted, and there is no time limit. You are welcome to evaluate the plugin fully before spending anything.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use our software or website unlawfully, not to attempt to circumvent license verification, and not to redistribute our software or license files. Breach of these Terms or of the End User License Agreement terminates your license.

10. Liability

Our software is provided “as is”, without warranty, as set out more fully in the End User License Agreement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
